beady-eye v0.37.0 · plugin 0.3.0

Who’s keeping an eye on it: in beady-eye 0.37, a bead other agents watch is marked

Watch a bead with the watch tool of the Claude Code plugin, version 0.3.0, and beady-eye 0.37.0 ends that bead’s row in ◉. Open the bead and its window names each agent watching it, by the name herdr shows for it. The agent working the bead is not counted among its watchers.

The cook is chasing the last two shifts on the Sunday rota. Front of house and the bakery order can do nothing until it is signed off, so both watch it rather than keep asking. The rota’s row carries the mark, and its window says who is watching and what each is up to.

The ticket follows the cook

Write the agent’s Claude session id onto a bead as agent_session, beside agent_pane, and bdi shows the bead against whichever pane herdr finds that agent in. An agent can change station and keep its ticket. A pane taken over by a new agent no longer inherits the bead of the one that left. A bead with only agent_pane shows as it always did.

One cook, two tickets

Where two beads name the same agent’s session, or one session turns up in two live panes, bdi now reports a conflict and gives the agent to neither bead.

Eyes that stay open

When /clear or /resume starts a new session in the same terminal, plugin 0.3.0 moves its watches to the new session, and changes keep arriving. The move happens at the session’s next watch, unwatch or watching call. If the watcher drops a watch it had accepted, the session is told once, with the reason.

Before you upgrade

The watch mark needs both releases, because older plugins do not say which agent is watching. Against an older bdi, plugin 0.3.0 watches as before and marks nothing, so the two can be updated in either order. Where no watcher answers for a bead’s project, the bead window says who watches it is unknown. The release notes cover the join.agent_session_key setting and what --json now says about an agent’s session.

One cook at the stove. Two pairs of eyes on the rota. Order up.
