beady-eye

One unblinking eye over every beads tracker you point it at. Its command, bdi, draws the work as a tree, and beside each bead an agent has claimed, the live herdr pane that agent is sitting in. It is for anyone running a few coding agents through one backlog.

~$ brew install codeforbreakfast/tap/bdi

What's on the plate

The work and the hands on it, on one screen. Rust, Apache-2.0.

A bdi screen: the arkham project's beads in two trees, three with a green agent marker and pane id beside them, one warning that a bead is claimed with no pane behind it, three panes below that no bead claims, and a band at the foot showing what the selected bead's pane is saying.

How to order

No config. Stand in a repository beads tracks and run it.

You need Linux or macOS, bd 1.1.0 or newer, and a tracker bd can open. herdr is what puts the agents beside the work. Without it you still get the trees and the claims.

# Homebrew: a built binary for macOS and Linux
brew install codeforbreakfast/tap/bdi

# crates.io, if you'd rather compile it
cargo install beady-eye

# as a herdr plugin
herdr plugin install CodeForBreakfast/beady-eye

# Nix, the tip of main
nix run github:CodeForBreakfast/beady-eye

# then, in a repository beads tracks
bdi

A binary for every platform is on the latest release. The README has the keys, the herdr key binding, Nix flakes and the config for several trackers. Hand docs/agents.md to your agents, so they tell the bead which pane they are in and the eye can find them.
